Saki Seat - Bicycle with your pet!

Morning Glen,

The saki seat arrived in perfect condition on Saturday morning, much to our excitement. We installed it in the afternoon and took the might predator out for a bit of a test ride. Persuading her into the seat was complicated and we ended up cuddling Beatrice into the seat and the strapping her in. The test went so well that we decided an excursion was the way forward on Sunday. As you can see from the attached pics, once ensconced in the seat, she was perfectly happy. We went from home to the train station (on roads with real cars!) perfectly happily.

Once in Linlithgow, we cycled along the canal for about 2.5 miles with Beastie running with us. She then started looking rather tired so we cuddled her into the seat and there she enjoyed the ride. There was a little squeaking but I like to think that is because she wanted to be on my bike with me. Unlikely, she may just have been very excited to be zipping along without having to run. We went all the way to the Falkirk wheel which is about 13.5 miles. And there we hopped on the returning train.

Beastie enjoyed the excursion so much that she stayed in her seat on the train ride home, even had a bit of a nap. While Drew and I have to work today, her ladyship is at home, in bed, resting. The saki seat is an incredible product. And with this new addition, our aging predator can come out with us; enjoy her excursions without stress and angst.

We look forward to many more years of her company on pleasant outings, thanks to the saki seat.

My husband and our Jack Russell terrier make quite a team using your Saki Seat and his old ten speed. They are famous in our neighborhood. When I walk the dog all the neighbors ask me, "Is that the dog that rides the bike"? The dog is really funny on the bike seat. He takes corners and sits up straight on long down hills so he can catch a breeze. He'll even lay right down and rest with his head on the handlebars. They go about 10 miles every day. Fourth of July weekend we took the dog, the bike and the seat on vacation with us on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. We biked into town for Fourth of July festivities and honestly, I could have sold 100 seats, as we made our way through the dense crowd with the dog balanced on the bike. Everyone wanted to know where we got the seat. Could you send my some of your business cards for my wallet? If it happens again I'd like to be able to give people the right information.

Thanks a lot Glen - your customer service is second to none! My dog Jenna, can do all three triathlon events with me now thanks to your seat!

The seat is a great thing – my dog feels very safe and comfortable in it. But it has its limitations on my particular bike (recumbent) because the steering column leans back and thus cuts into her space. She manages by sticking her head around it, but after a while (an hour or so) she has to shift around. So, I am thinking of getting a different bike. In the meantime we have had a lot of good rides – she is so close at hand that I don’t bother to tether her (because I can easily grab her if necessary – but it hasn’t been, because shih tzus are generally calm-and-collected animals by nature) – and she loves it. From the first ride she felt very secure riding in it and so there was no fuss in taking her out.

I was just wondering if you had discovered a way of doing “in-flight hydration” for Saki? I hope you invent something else soon, as you did a great job with the Saki Seat!

I got my Saki Seat today in the mail. I was so excited that I made my husband put it together for me right away! (what a nice guy-hehe) by the time it was put together it was night time, but I had to take Henry (my pooch) for a spin. We went around the block a couple times and he loved it! Thanks so much!

My husband got me a Saki seat for my birthday. By the end of the day we were tooling around with our JRT and Rat Terrier. They both love it and it is an especially great way for me to spend time with the JRT who is older and can no longer go on runs. They love to cruise around the neighborhood in their comfy seat.

Hi Glen, I have had your seat for a week now and love it. My dog “Porter” is just five years old but has a bad leg. My vet told me to stop his daily walks to the park. Your seat is a great alternative and keeps him going. I have a bike trailer that I modified for him but just didn’t workout very well. With the Saki Seat we ride together and feels great. Hi Glen, Porter it doing great thanks for asking. We go for a ride every day after work and long rides on weekends. When ever he is in the garage he will go over to my bike and paw at it to go for a ride. I tell everybody I see about your Saki Seat. What a great product.
