How It All Begin

Saki is my beloved Shiba Inu. If you are unfamiliar with the breed, they are a very high energy breed that just loves being a part of what ever is going on. When she was a puppy, and I was a younger man, we would get our exercise together. One of my favorite things to do with her was Rollerblade while she ran along with me. In 2004, though, I was advised by my Orthopedic Surgeon to stop all forms of skating. Seems over thirty years of Ice Hockey had left me with a degenerative back condition. Well, that wasn't best report I had ever received, but rather then feel sorry for myself, I looked for other engaging activities, especially ones I could enjoy with Saki.

We were getting ready to go on a vacation in that same time frame, and the region of the country we were going to was beautiful -notorious for its scenic bike trails which I had skated many times in the past. Well it dawned on me, that it would really be cool if Saki could ride with me on my bike, while I chugged along these great trails.

Well I went shopping to see what was available to serve those needs, and came away convinced there was nothing out there that would suit our needs.

It was this situation that became the geneses of the whole Saki Seat concept. And, if I was going to build something to fill this need, I might as well take it to a level where Saki could not only ride on trails, but be versatile enough that she could ride with me off road and in the hills as well. It was later in the development she showed me how she could lay down and rest in it too.

Together we have logged over 3000 accident free miles, and it continues to be one of our favorite activities to enjoy together with friends and family, as well as being a real joyful conversation piece with other bikers and animal lovers alike!

It is our highest hope that this product will help others to enjoy the fun and exhilaration that it has provided us. Thanks for your interest, be safe, and get out there and enjoy!

Sincerely,
Saki and Glen
